Fair Street Strategies is led by Ewell Lawson, an accomplished executive leader with extensive experience creating impactful strategies that empower organizations and individuals. As a veteran government affairs professional and strategic business consultant, Ewell has advised top-level officials, provided strategic business leadership, and navigated difficult legislative and policy matters. Three decades of expertise has put him in service as a trusted adviser to three governors, a state auditor, a member of Congress, and in reliable leadership for state and national associations. His diverse background includes roles as an Association Chief Operating Officer, Governor's Special Assistant, State Director of Intergovernmental Relations, and Government Affairs Director. Facilitating grants as a Congressional Office Manager helped shape his career and established his deep understanding for creative navigation of difficult government processes. With more than two decades as a registered lobbyist, Lawson's understanding of advocacy and legislative affairs is deep and comprehensive.
Most recently, as the Chief Association and Development Officer for a multistate association of 120 civic-led utilities, Ewell gained valuable insights on industry-wide utility matters, along with the challenges faced by local governments. His policy acumen and leadership have been called on by national groups, including as a member of the Board of Directors of a national trade association, where he also chaired its Advisory Committee of state associations and its 2000+ member Legislative and Resolutions Committee. This national involvement earned Lawson the prestigious APPA Richardson Statesmanship Award, recognizing his ability to forge policy solutions and build consensus.
As a proud Mizzou-made leader, Lawson's Masters of Public Administration and Political Science undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri fortifies his extensive professional experience.
